We are now having our dress rehearsals for the annual Cleo Parker Robinson Dance School Student Showcase. Cleo's company will open the show and it will feature student performances in African, Ballet, Hip-hop, Jazz, Modern, and Tap. Students range in age from around 6 to people who might even be older than me! Following are the dates and times: - Friday April 18th, 2008 at 7:00 PM
- Saturday April 19th, 2008 at 1:00 PM
- Saturday April 19th, 2008 at 5:00 PM
Tickets are only $8, making this is a great way to see a lot of dancing for a very low price. You should consider getting your tickets in advance, because I believe they sold out at least one of the shows last year, and that was without the company doing a performance. CPRD is located at 119 Park Avenue West, in the AME Shorter Church, where Park Ave. intersects Washington Street and 20th Avenue. Almost all of the school's classes are performing in each showcasel This year I will be performing with only one class, Larry Southall's Monday hip-hop class. Hope to see you at the show!
